AEB: Russia April sales of cars, LCVs rise 7% to 129,476 vehicles
MOSCOW, May 11 (PRIME) – Russian sales of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) rose 6.9% on the year to 129,476 vehicles in April, the Association of European Businesses (AEB) said in a report on Thursday.
In January–April, car and LCV sales increased 2.6% on the year to 451,945 units.
Joerg Schreiber, Chairman of the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee said, “Market sales in April increased on a year-on-year basis, at the same time falling short of the volume achieved in March. We are not dealing with a healthy seasonality yet, which reminds us of how fragile the current cautious recovery still is. Nevertheless, April sales result is another step forward in the right direction.”
Sales of Russian carmaker AvtoVAZ increased by 7% on the year to 26,337 vehicles in April and by 8% on the year to 87,784 cars in January–April.
